World Market Easter Table

I am so pleased to be a part of a blog hop this week, Sharing is Caring, hosted by Monika over at Life With Lovebugs.

Sharing is Caring Blog Hop

We have teamed up to bring you lots of spring and Easter inspiration.
You can visit all of the great links at the bottom of this post.

Today I am sharing with you my Easter Table using some of my own items as well as those I got on my recent shopping trip.
You may remember a few weeks back I was invited to the grand re-opening of the Denver World Market.

I showed some of the lovelies that I purchased and promised to show you how they were used.

Of course they were used to set a beautiful Easter table.
No tablecloth, I wanted the place settings and centerpiece to be the stars.

I started with the off white lacy placemats. I then layered on a robin egg blue charger I bought a few months ago, on clearance, from Kirkland's. Next came another pale blue salad plate from Home Goods.  And the star, a pretty bowl from World Market with a bunny with his egg hidden inside.

My Rogers silverplate flatware makes another appearance.

The napkin and napkin ring are from World Market. I love the crisp white of the flowers on the napkin ring.

The centerpiece, with the exception of the flowers, are also from World Market.

Using the pale pink and green roses from my St. Patrick's Day table, I hit the floral clearance at the grocery store once again and found some other brighter flowers to fill in the white urn.  I'm tellin' you, those clearance flowers last weeks!
I have been wanting a vase like this forever and was so happy to finally find the one I like at World Market.
I may have to go get another one and use them both on the buffet.

I also purchased a few of these pretty teal glass jars for candles. I plan on using them outside too this summer.

Set on Easter candle wreaths.

The little speckled eggs mimic some of the colors in the flowers.

I am so pleased with the way my Easter table turned out.
I like that it is fitting for Easter and for Spring.

Be sure and check out all of the other great spring ideas at the hop.

New Years Eve Table

Well here we are, another year come and gone. For me 2012 has been one of sorrow and celebration. I have to say it, I'm really happy to moving on to a new year. I am not one to make resolutions.  I usually try to set a goal or two for myself.  My goal this past year was to be kinder to others.  I think, for the most part, I was able to achieve that goal but, sometimes, those darn others made it hard LOL.

I'm not certain what my main goal for 2013 is yet.  I do know what some of my goals are. Number one, I have is to get a job.  I'd like it to be something I love doing but, I know too well, you can't have everything you want in life. I want to be more consistent with my posting here on my blog.  I've kinda taken some time off for the holidays but I'd like to have a new post up at least twice a week, not including my favorite post of the week, the You're Gonna Love It link party every Tuesday. The powder room, kitchen and laundry room are all screaming to get a new coat of paint so I plan to tackle those rooms.  I really need to get my stash of dishes in some sort of real order, which, could mean getting rid of some of them {gasp}.  So, maybe my goal for 2013 is, finish what I start!  Yes, I think that is a good goal to have. There it is!  It's out there into the world and you all are my witnesses and motivation.  I can't and won't let you down. Pinky swear!

Now that that is all settle it's time for a party! A New Year's Eve party!

I wanted the table to be full of glitz and sparkle. I started with a black striped tablecloth from Goodwill. The silver sparkly square chargers are actually scrapbook papers from Michael's that I bought with a gift card from my youngest son and his girlfriend.

I then added Candlewick dinner plates, topped with clock faced salad plates I bought on clearance last year from Burlington Coat Factory.  I paid $3.50 for the set of four.
The napkins, done in a bow fold, are from Home Goods and the napkin rings were a recent Pier 1 purchase using a gift card from my son and daughter-in-law.

And my favorite vintage Rogers silverplate flatware added the perfect elegance to the setting.

For the centerpiece I used a few more sheets of the glittered paper and placed 3 of my Godinger goblets upside down for candle holders.

I found the lighted silver and pearl garland at Big Lots. It's on a timer so it turns itself off after 6 hours. LOVE it!

I added a couple of mirrored ornaments too.

Some clear and pearl gems are scattered around the table to mimic confetti.

Noisemakers to bring in the new year are set in champagne flutes.

There are tiaras for the women and hats for the men, or, vice versa LOL.

A chilled bottle of champagne to toast the new year anchors one end of the table.

Fall Hutch

A few weeks ago I shared my
late Summer hutch decor here.
At that time I promised you
that I would share her more often.
True to my word, I am going to
show her off again today.

Like everyone else it seems, I have
been bitten by the Fall decorating bug.
Mr. B was kind enough to get my Fall bins
down from the garage and so it began.
It was quite the flurry of activity!
There were leaves flying, pumpkins and other
decor strewn all around me.
It was just like almost like Christmas for me!

I decided to go outside my comfort zone
with my china hutch this year.
I decided to not stick with just dishes
and went with some other decor too.
On the very top I left my vintage printer's drawer
and added a couple of big faux pumpkins and some
Fall garland.
The Give Thanks
picture is new from Hobby Lobby this year
although, you just know I did buy it on sale.
On the top shelf I started with a
couple of orange chargers that I got on sale
at Michael's.
I then layered green plates from the Dollar Tree
and then some pretty pumpkin salad plates
I bought from Home Goods last year, or the year before
or sometime LOL.

I also used a wooden pumpkin plaque
that says Welcome.
This is out of the norm for me, to use decor
like this instead of plates but,
Love It!
On the lower shelf I filled a wicker
basket with one of my favorite white ceramic
pumpkins and smaller pumpkins and gourds.
If you look closely, you can tell
that this little vignette somewhat mimics
the scene depicted in the Give Thanks picture
on top of the hutch.
In the back, I placed one of my favorite Fall platters.
I purchased it several years ago at Hobby Lobby
and I always have to display it somewhere.
This year, it's in the hutch
Another one of the pumpkin plates and
another favorite platter finish off this shelf.
I had to buy this Happy Harvest platter when
I saw it at Hobby Lobby.
(hmmm...I sure like Hobby Lobby's platters don't I!)
Mr. B was born and raised on a
farm in Saskatchewan. It's my little
homage to his childhood.
The bottom section only has the
Autumn sign I made and shared a few weeks ago.
in a few weeks, come Canadian Thanksgiving,
this space will be filled with the tarts and pies
that are Mr. B's holiday favorites.

I will be leaving the hutch decorated like this
until after Thanksgiving.
Then the real fun begins!
She will then be all dressed up
in her Christmas pretties!

I always share my dishes with
and
