Valentine's Day Buffet Decor

Can you believe Valentine's Day is less than a week away?

And the day after that, I will be yet another year older??

With my advancing years I am sure you will forgive me in that I am late in showing off how I decorated the buffet this year.

I'm still in love with the mirror I found at Ross a few months back.

And, I think it provides the perfect frame for the wreath I got at IKEA last year.

The fabric hearts in the ribbon wrapped bowl are also from IKEA.

They were white but a bath in some red food coloring in water and they are now a pretty pale pink.

On the right side of the buffet I used a Valentine themed bucket I found in the dollar spot at Target last year and filled with red shredded paper. 

The cute cherubs were a gift from a friend many years ago.

A fun sparkly balloon holder sits on a cupcake stand.

The left side mimics the right. 

You may remember this from this post from last year when it was used in a Valentine's Day Cloche.

Another Valentine's Day.  Another birthday. 

Another year spend with my one true love.

I hope you spend the day and, everyday, with those you love!

Valentine's Day Tablescape

One of my favorite things about Valentine's Day are the bright colors.

Bright reds, rosy pinks, crisp whites.  

I love them and put them all on my Valentine's Day tablescape this year.

Yes, I used two different salad plates for this table of love.

If you have been a follower for any length of time you have seen the pink rose salad plates before.  They were a find several years ago at Home Goods and I used them in a vignette last year at this time.

The sweet I Love You plates are newer.

They were originally marked at $9.99 each at Hobby Lobby but,

I got the last 2 at .99 each!

The chargers started out as thrift store gold chargers but, a bit of spray paint and hello soft pink!

I last used the same white and red dinner plates for our anniversary table.

The pale pink goblets were also a thrift store score for half off, meaning I paid .50 for each of them.

You may remember seeing the heart cut out vases from last year when they were featured in my china cabinet decor

I put faux hot pink flowers in one

and faux soft pink flowers in the other.

The clear candlesticks in the center are from IKEA.

The beaded garland running around the table has heart shaped beads.

Reminding us that love has no end.

An unexpected table set with all of the colors of love to show 

my favorite Valentine, Mr. B, my quirky nature!

Valentine China Cabinet

As you know, if you read this post, that I finally will be working again.
My first day is Monday Feb. 4th.
I am excited as well as nervous!
In order to expel some of that nervousness I decided to change out the 
china cabinet from winter to Valentine's Day.

 

 If you remember, I had used peacock scrapbook paper

in the back for the winter theme.

Well, I liked how much the scrapbook paper 

really added to it so,

and this pattern really caught my eye.

 Nice and bright and I just loved all of the different hearts.

On the top shelf I used 3 lavender chargers from Michael's in the back.

 I then layered my pink Churchill dinner plates in front.

I used a pair of Ikea lace look planters to add some dimension.

On the lower shelf, Churchill salad plates and

a pair of pink vases, with heart cutouts, I purchased from Target

last year, on clearance, for $1.29 each!

In the back I placed my favorite red stick wreath from Ikea.

Now, I just have to show off the top of the cabinet.

A few weeks ago I went to an estate sale

and found a couple of items I just love!

The enameled pot was just $4.00.

 And the enameled coffee pot was $10.00.

Both have the perfect amount of wear and rust!

 I think they work perfectly with the printers tray

and the sign I found at Hobby Lobby last year.

Putting this all together really did help me

calm my jitters.

Churchill Valentine's Table

I had actually started to set this table several weeks ago, before my dad got so sick, but never got around to finishing it until this past weekend.

I had eyed this Churchill dinnerware, on clearance, for weeks at Ross several years ago.  Mr B, being the true enabler that he is, finally told me to, and I quote, "for the love of God, please just go buy it". So I did :)  I fell in love with the color most of all.  I had always wanted some transferware and to find it in this lovely pink was the icing on the cake to me since pink is one of my favorite colors and Valentine's Day is now one of my favorite days.

I also fell in love with the fact that each piece has a different scene on it.

The soup bowl has a quaint cottage on it.

 

The salad plate a farm scene.

The dinner plate a different cottage scene.

I layered them all on over-sized plates as a charger from Ikea.

A basketweave pattern, leaves and grapes line the rim of each piece.

My go-to vintage Rodgers silverplate flatware makes yet another appearance.  The design mimics the flowers on the dinnerware. I found the pink napkins months ago at a thrift store for .25 each.

The pitcher used for the centerpiece was another thrift store score.  I paid very little for it and then, weeks later, saw the exact one at Safeway, of all places, for much much more.

I found the flowers and the whispy feathers on clearance at Michaels.

The mercury glass heart ornaments were an after Christmas purchase from Pier 1.  I bought the mercury glass votives at Bed Bath & Beyond recently for only $1.49 each!  I am such a clearance aisle freak when I go there. The Godinger crystal candlesticks made it, once again, onto this table. The crochet runner was a gift from Mr. B's mother.  

The water goblets and pink stems are also thrift store scores. I didn't pay more than .50 each for them.

 I also did a bit of Valentine's Day decor on the buffet.

The Valentine teddy bear was gift from Mr. B last year. I took a divided frame from Dollar Tree and added letters I printed out.

The little teddy bear couple also came from Dollar Tree and makes me think of Mr. B and me when I look at it.
A cherub from Dollar tree lounges next to a cute mailbox from the dollar spot at Target. The runner is another gift from Mr. B's mother.  She knows I just love them.

Although Valentine's Day is technically over, I may just keep this table set up for a bit longer.  I mean really, does Valentine's Day have to be just one day?  Not in my mind it doesn't!
