Spring China Cabinet

I was going to set my china cabinet up for St Patrick's day and then thought I do it up Easter.
In the end, I instead decided to go full on Spring.
http://www.kathewithane.com
I am soooo ready for Spring!  Rumor has it, after a blizzard yesterday, that we may see temperatures in the 70's by the end of the week!
Oh that would make my heart happy!
http:www.kathewithane.com
I started with a bright Spring plaid scrapbook paper to line the back of the cabinet with.
http:www.kathewithane.com
I then brought out my favorite Spring dishes. They are from American Living at JCP and were a Mother's Day gift from Mr. B several years ago.
I love the colors and the flowers.
http://www.kathewithane.com
I found a couple of plate racks at Bed, Bath & Beyond last week, on clearance, and they hold my smaller plates nicely.
The Noritake dessert plates were a birthday gift from my mother-in-law.
She knows I love anything with flowers and even more so if they are on plates!

I wanted to keep the cabinet clean and simple. Soon we will be starting
Spring cleaning and I am so done with clutter!

Spring is just around the corner and I can't wait for it to arrive!

20 NEW Fun Facts To Get You Through The Day

I realized it's been about a year since I last did a post letting you get to know me better.  In that year I've gained quite a few new followers so, I thought the time was right to share with you, tada!! 20 NEW Fun Facts To Get You Through The Day:

1. I am a speed reader. When I was in elementary school I was tested as reading and comprehending at a 12th grade level so, what did they do with me?  Why they put me in an Evelyn Wood speed reading course!  Yes, the one parodied on SNL. So, now I can read and comprehend a novel in just a few hours.
2. I am HORRIBLE at math!!  Seriously horrible. But, ask me what the price is on something that is 80% off and I can rattle that right off!  Sales are my favorite word problems LOL!

3. I was born about 5-6 weeks before my due date so I consider myself both an Aquarian and an Aries, depending on which one explains me best for that day.

4. I whistle with my tongue out of my mouth.  You'd have to see it to believe it but I consider it an endearing trait. Others? Well they consider it gross.

5. My biggest pet peeve is 4 words long~ "Have a good one"!  Nails on a chalkboard time! Wish me a good day, hour, weekend, pimple but, do not wish me a good ONE!
6. I've learned that regret is useless. We cannot change the past, we can only do better in the here and now.

7. I am deathly afraid of heights!  Like, if I see someone else up high I freak out for them, kind of afraid!

8. I'm shy yet out going.  I am terrified of speaking in front of a crowd and of meeting new people but, I don't want life to pass me by either.

9. Most people think I am a very strong woman.  In truth, I am not.  I just know I have to power through and then move on. Life ain't easy so, I cry in the shower.

10. When I am gone...like in another 50 years please...I would like to be remembered as funny and as a kind person.

11. Snakes!  Ugh!  Just even saying "snakes" gives me the willies!  They are just slithering, moist looking freaks!  I know they do good things in my garden but, if I see one when I am out weeding, that's it!  Done for the day thankyouverymuch!
12. I don't have any stamps in my passport.  The only foreign country I have been to is Canada and that was before you needed a passport to travel there.

13. I may be jinxing myself but, I don't have a single bone that's been broken. Not even my funny bone LOL!

14. I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up.

15. The very first "concert" I ever went to was The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band at some place on the Gonzaga campus around 1970.

16. I still don't know what bra size I should wear.

17. I'm really over chevrons and Keep Calm.

18. I have no idea what my natural hair color is. I'm thinking it's a gray tone though.

19. I have spent most of my life dieting.  Enough!  I have hereby climbed off that band wagon.  If I see I'm getting a tad fluffy, I'll just eat less but, I will no longer beat myself up over it.

20. This post took me longer to write than most tablescapes take me to set up!

Now it's your turn!  Tell me 1 or 7 or 20 Fun Facts about you!!

You're Gonna Love It - Week 44

Happy March!
Are you as pleased as I am that the first day of Spring is less than 3 weeks away?

Spring is my absolute favorite season.
The rebirth that happens around me each warm sunny day just rejuvenates my soul.

Robins, bluejays, chickadees. wrens and even those pesky woodpeckers have all been meeting around my birdbath each day and boy, do they let me know when it needs to be refilled lol!
I sure do love seeing them!
It's like a noisy party everyday out there!

Speaking of noisy parties, how about we have one ourselves right now??

The most viewed link came from Patti who blogs at
Old Things New.
http://www.kathewithane.com
Patti shared the most ahh-mazing chalk paint transformation on a, get this, $5.00 find!!
I'm serious, if you have not been over to check it out, you have to go see it to believe it!
Nicely done Patti!  Go grab yourself an "I've Been Featured" button from up top! I loved it!

Now, on to the party!
It's the first Tuesday of the month and you know what that means!

ANYTHING GOES!

You can link up your regular posts as always
but, this week
you can also link up your giveaways,
your Etsy shops, your Ebay stores,
your own link parties!
 Anything and everything!
All I ask is that you keep it clean and
family friendly
and
try to limit your posts to only 5 link ups.
I reserve the option of deleting
any post that I do not feel fits the
theme of my blog.

I also like to spotlight
some of my favorites on my
Facebook page so,
be sure to follow me over there too!

It would be nice
if you'd check and
make sure you are not a
no-reply commenter.
I try to respond to every email and comment
you leave to me but, if you are a
no-reply commenter,
I can't and that makes me sad.
As always, you don't have to
be a follower
in order to link up.
 I want you to follow
Kathe With An E
because you want to.
Not because it is required.
I would also love it if you would link back
in some way
so that others come and party with us.
Either grab the party button
or add my blog link
to your post or on your

  blog party page.
But again, it's not required.

Just remember, this is a party so,
please, after you link up,
mingle around
and visit some of the other party guests.

Boar's Head Heart Heathly Deli Meats~Recipe

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Boar's Head for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
Boar's Head Heart Healthy Deli Meat
Did you know that Heart Disease is the nation’s leading cause of death for both men and women? Taking care of your heart by eating well is one of the most important things you can do for yourself. Mr. B & I are still trying our best to watch what we eat and to eat healthier.
Boar’s Head is proud to offer dozens of premium certified heart-healthy deli meats that allow you to create good-for-your-heart recipes. These Boar's Head heart-healthy deli meats are low in fat, saturated fat, cholesterol and meat specified limits for sodium. We are looking forward to trying the Blazing Buffalo Style Roasted Chicken Breast,  the All Natural Roasted Turkey Breast and the All Natural Applewood Smoked Uncured Ham. How's would those be for making a great sandwhich?
Being heart-healthy is important to us for a number of reasons – we like being healthy, taking care of our bodies and we are not getting any younger, but we want to live like we are!
The Boar's Head website also has a bunch of recipes too!  Here's one that I plan on trying for dinner soon as I have some home grown spaghetti squash in the freezer.

Ovengold® Turkey Spaghetti Squash Tumble

1 small Spaghetti Squash
1 TBSP Olive Oil
1 large Garlic Clove, crushed
2 TBSP Fresh Basis, chopped
1 TBSP Fresh Parsley, chopped
1/4 cup Peas, frozen, defrosted and drained
1/4 cup tomato, diced
5 oz Ovengold Roasted Breast of Turkey, diced
Boar's Head Pamigiano-Reggiano, to taste
Cut the squash in half lengthwise. Remove seeds. Cut each half into equal pieces. Place cut squash into a steamer basket in a Dutch oven with water and cook on high to steam until tender (about 15-20 minutes).  Using a fork, remove the squash strands from the shell and set aside.
Heat the oil in a medium non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic, basil, parsley and squash; toss lightly to coat. Add the peas, tomatoes and turkey. Lightly sprinkle with the grated Parmesan cheese on top and serve.
Boar's Head deli meats are available at select supermarkets and fine delicatessens nationwide so, like me, be sure to look for them on your next shopping trip. It'll make your heart happy!

St. Patrick's Day Table

http:www.kathewithane.com

Wow!  Where did February go??  The days are going way to fast as I get older. You too?
Soon, Spring will be here which is really okay with me!
Old Man Winter can go hibernate any day now!

Before Spring arrives though, there is still St. Patrick's Day to celebrate!
Corned beef, cabbage, green beer and the wearin' o' the green.

Of course I cannot let an occasion pass without some decorating o' my table.
http:www.kathewithane.com
A green tablecloth for sure.
http:www.kathewithane.com
My favorite oversized Ikea plates as chargers topped with
a fun green and white polka dot salad plate from Hobby Lobby.
White lace napkins from Boscovs online clearance
done up in a gold beaded napkin ring.
I also used my vintage gold plated flatware.
http:www.kathewithane.com
For the centerpiece I found some unloved Valentine's Day roses
in the clearance section at the grocery store.
$4.99 for this big bouquet!
I can't imagine what they were going for before February 14th!
And I'm here to tell you, they are still going strong today!
http:www.kathewithane.com
I really lucked out as they are pink but tinged with such a soft and pretty green.
http:www.kathewithane.com
I placed a shamrock candle ring under the vase.
http:www.kathewithane.com
A couple of silver and green votives add just a little brightness to the table.
http:www.kathewithane.com
Green Jello in some of Mr. B's stout glasses mimic green beer.
My Irish crystal stems are the finishing touch to the table.
http:www.kathewithane.com
Mr. B doesn't like corned beef and cabbage so, again this year,
I'll buy a corned beef while it's on sale and we'll have the,
not quite traditional, and not really Irish, Rueben sandwiches LOL!
At least the dill pickle on the side will be green!
Sláinte my friends!

World Market Denver Grand Re-Opening

As I have been telling you, I was invited to attend the grand re-opening of the new Denver World Market!
I promised I would share the event with all of you and I am here now to do just that!
It was so busy I wound up having to park across the street but it was worth the walk across snow and ice!
Pardon the fuzzy picture.  I was just so excited to get in the store lol!
Once in the store I was in awe of all of the products so beautifully displayed.
Are you a part of the World Market Explorer club?
I have been a member for years and the perks are fantastic!
I received a $10.00 off anything coupon for my birthday last month just for being a member!
Seriously, sign up the next time you go!
I felt like Dorothy in Oz!  Totally surrounded by beauties such as this Gemma tray.
I could picture it on display on my buffet this Spring.
There was food and refreshments available as well as live music.
The singer in this duo sounded just like John Denver!
Just look at this sofa! So pretty for Spring and Summer!
I could have sat right down and been so comfortable listening to the music
and people watching.
And this chair?  Be still my heart!  I need to find a spot for this in my office at home!
Perfect for my Spring theme in that room don't you think?
There was even a separate space to purchase wine & spirits.
(See that pretty women with the baby...that's Allison, she blogs over at A Glimpse Inside.
I'm happy to say that I got to meet her.  She is just as friendly as she seems on her blog!).

If you've ever shopped at World Market then you know they have a little bit of everything!  Candles, art, lamps, pillows, even clothing!  And of course, seasonal items! What's not to love?
I spent over an hour and half in the store and filled my cart full!
Take a gander at what I bought:

Are you sensing a theme here?
Oh yeah, I'll be putting together a wonderful Easter tablescape courtesy of World Market!
What do you think?  How'd I do?

Although it was a magical evening, the grand re-opening festivities don't end there!!
