You're Gonna Love It - Week 75

Hello my partying friends!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend?

We celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving on Sunday with Mr. B's mom & dad.

They made the hour long drive down the mountains and 

were our official first guests in our new home.

There was turkey with all of the fixin's and football to enjoy.

MIL & I did some shopping together and the general consensus was, 

a fun time was had by all!

Now, I'd say we have our own good time right now!!

Canadian Thanksgiving Table

I finally found the time to set a table in our new dining room!

Of course I HAD to set a table too as we are hosting the 

Canadian Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday in our new home.

I cannot wait to host Mr. B's mom & dad!

In previous years I have chosen to go with a traditional table 

setting as you can see here and here.

This year, I decided to set a less traditional Canadian Thanksgiving Day table.

I haven't unpacked and hung up my tablecloths yet so, 

keeping the table bare was a very easy decision!

And I also kept it simple with no chargers or place mats.

I chose to use my pale blue dinner and salad plates at each setting. 

Not your usual color for Fall but I felt they were perfect 

against the mahogany dining table.

Plain white napkins and our wedding flatware don't distract from the dishes.

The Godinger Shannon goblets always work, whether it be a 
traditional or non traditional tablescape.

I kept the rest of the table decor in shades of white.

A thrift store pumpkin tureen and a Dollar Tree 

pumpkin sit at one end of the table.

While another small pumpkin and leaf salt and pepper 

anchor the other end of the table.

For the centerpiece I filled my favorite urn from World Market with clippings from the Purple Sand Cherry bushes that are planted by the front porch. 

The color could not be more perfect for Fall and Thanksgiving, don't you think?

There is nothing new on this table.  All have been used before and 

I am so okay with that.  It is so fun to set a table with them in a new and different way in a new and different room. 

Now that could all very easily change as, unlike the U.S. Thanksgiving, 

all of the stores will be open and there is nothing Mr. B's mother and I like more then hitting Home Goods, TJ Maxx, Ross, and World Market when they come to visit LOL!

Decorating For Fall

As I said earlier this week, most of the unpacking into the new home is done!
Now I can get to really decorating for the seasons and holidays.

You may remember my mantle decor at our previous house.  The mantle there was like no other, making it difficult to decorate.  
Now, in our new home, I am having so much fun with 
my new spaces to decorate for Fall!

Of course, with the move I haven't had time to make or buy any new 
Fall decor but that's okay.  
I buy thriftly and find what I love and just use it differently. 
Such as the Autumn banner I made last year. 
It fits across the new fireplace perfectly!

The wall color of this house are perfect for Fall! 
A nice warm beige just makes the Fall colors jump out 
without being "In Yer Face"

I was a bit worried that I wouldn't be able to figure out how to decorate the shelf over the TV.  I wanted to be sure it looked good, front and back. 
I think I found the right combination of decor to pull it off.

Of course I had to make sure that, just because my china hutch now sits in a cubby in the dining room, it doesn't get neglected.

(Squeee!  All of the window treatments have been hung in the dining room!)

Nor could I leave the buffet unadorned.

I had SOOOO much fun setting up our new home for Fall!  
Mr. B's parents are visiting this weekend for Canadian Thanksgiving dinner and I cannot wait to show off our pretty new house.

There were so many amazing posts to check out but, 
it looks like many of you were too busy to come back by and see them.

I *think* we have finished with most of the unpacking and are settling in. 

I still need to unpack and hang all of tablecloths and we found 2 more boxes of my dishes (Eek!  I seriously don't know where they are going to go yet!).

But, I was still able to set a Fall table and get my Fall decor up and I will be sharing those later this week so, stop back by to see all of my hard work!
