Purex No Sort For Colors Detergent - The Rules Have Changed!

Disclosure: I recieved Purex No Sorts for Colors as a part of the Purex Insiders Group; however all opinions expressed are always my own.

I learned how to do laundry like many of us did, from my mother.  The most important part of the chore was, sorting. Darks, whites, reds, they all need their own special load into the washer.  Sometimes you don't have enough to make a full load so you are forced to wait until you wear that right color to fill the machine.  Or, you put those reds in with the blues and they then come out dingy.  They've lost that brand new luster that made you purchase that special blouse in the first place!  Even worse, your wonderful husband (love you Mr. B!) decides to give you a hand and that red blouse goes in with the whites and he is now left to go to work with pink undershirts. Well, I am here to tell you friends, I have found the perfect solution to color bleeding accidents!  The sorting rules have changed thanks to the new Purex No Sort Detergent For Colors! Those days of sorting laundry are over!

I was lucky enough to receive a free bottle of Purex No Sort For Colors to test for myself. I am here to say, I love it! It does just what it promises. It does prevent color bleeding.
It contains a breakthrough Anti-Color-Transfer Technology that acts as a dye transfer inhibitor.  Not that it promises magical results.  This detergent is meant to reduce color bleed accidentsPurex recommends that you still pre-wash strongly colored fabrics and bright new clothing at least 5 times before washing in a load with different colors.

I love that the loads I tested Purex No Sort detergent in, whites, lights, darks and reds, came out with no stains. I was kind of thinking I'd open the washer and see little droplets of dye stuck to the sides of the washing machine. Nope, I can stop sorting the laundry! Everything was as clean as could be!
Another selling point for me is the smell!  OMG!  When I went to use it the first time I was amazed at how fresh and, well, clean it smelled!  And that smell lasted right through the dryer!

I see this new detergent as a fantastic tool in my laundry arsenal to not only save me time but, my favorite, money!
Now some good news for you, Purex has a giveaway going on with No Sorts for Colors, check it out here. You could win $1,000 and a one year supply of laundry detergent!
Want some even better news?  Three of my awesome readers (that's 3 of YOU!) can enter to win a coupon for a free bottle of Purex No Sort For Colors of your own to try! *Open to residents of the U.S. 18+.

Pfister Faucet Review & Giveaway!

Pfister Faucet Review - Kathe With An E
One of the benefits of moving into a newer home is that there isn't really much to do in regards any updating. Oh some paint here and there maybe and doing those little things that make it "our" home but, nothing major really needs to be done.
Pfister Faucet Review - Kathe With An E

Of course, after we had been in our new home for a few months, there were some things that did bug us. One issue was the faucet in the kitchen. It's not that it didn't work well, it's just that is was not our style. We are simpler folk and the setup that came with the house was, in Mr. B's words, too frilly and fussy. So, when the opportunity arrived in my email box from Friends of Pfister to do a faucet review I seriously jumped at the chance!!!

One of my requirements in a kitchen faucet is that it be a gooseneck. When it comes time for me to fill a large pot with water for canning, or when Mr. B is brewing beer, neither of us wants to fight the pot or the faucet to get it filled! I had a choice of many faucets and it was so hard to choose. Just to share a few of my faves:

To check out their selection for yourself, head on over to Pfister!

Every fixture in our house is a Tuscan Bronze so the finish wasn't hard for us to choose. After much discussion, we both agreed on this one:

The Wheaton. Nice high neck, not too ornate, simple and traditional,
just like us!

Now, don't let this picture fool you.  Mr. B is not a plumber but, he said the installation was super easy!  The hardest part of the project was taking everything out from under the sink and removing the old faucet.
(I was, thankfully, away visiting my grandson when he installed it!)

The old faucet required 4 holes but, the Pfister did not.  No worries!  It came with a deckplate that covered the unneeded holes!

I am just loving how sleek and, well, pretty it looks!

I was iffy on the pull down sprayer at first but, the Wheaton features an advanced docking system - one quick snap guarantees the spray head stays securely in place after every use.SOLD!

Now for the true test!  Did it meet our requirements for easily filling large pots?

Why, yes it did!

With pah-lenty of room to spare I might add!

Seventh Generation Review, Real Simple and the Clean House Challenge

As you know, since I was let go from my real job a few weeks ago,
I have been a cleaning fool!
No surface has been untouched!

One of the personal choices I have made include using products that are friendly to the environment, like those from Seventh Generation™

I was so excited when recently I was sent a box of Seventh Generation™ products to try out.
Seventh Generation has three new specialty cleaners (Wood, Granite/Stone, and Stainless Steel) and they are all USDA Certified Biobased Products made from non-toxic, biodegradable formulas.
I can't really attest how well the granite & stone cleaner or the
stainless steel cleaner work as I couldn't test them.
I don't have granite or stone or stainless steel
in the house.

But, I can tell you that I do love the wood cleaner!
With ingredients such as essential oils of lemon and camomile
and organic coconut oil, this stuff rocks!
And it smells flippin' amazing!
I tried it on my buffet and it cleaned and shined her
up like brand new!
The Hand Care Dish Liquid is a USDA Certified Biobased Product with fragrances from essential oils and botanical extracts. The formula is non-toxic, biodegradable and contains Advanced HerbaVera™ Moisturizing Technology.
Lots of nice bubbles and it did an excellent job of cleaning.

But, because I like to keep it honest,
I did find it to be a bit rough on my hands.
I tend to be sensitive to some dish soaps so your use of it may vary.
My favorite, by far, is the
The Natural Laundry Detergent Packs!
They are a USDA Certified Biobased Product containing no dyes,
synthetic fragrances, nor optical brighteners. They are effective in hot or cold water as well as HE, front and top load machines.

I have an older top loader and let me tell you!
These little packets pack a punch!
Not only did they clean our laundry, the
rinse water was clear as a bell!
You get 30 pods to a package. You use one for regular loads
and two can be used for heavier loads.
Once this hits the store shelves I will be loading (see what I did there? LOL) up!

Right now, Seventh Generation is also teaming up with Real Simple
to host the Clean House Challenge.
Until October 31st, users can participate in an
interactive experience designed to educate those interested
about keeping a green, healthy house!
By participating you’ll also be eligible to receive some
valuable coupons for Seventh Generation products and prizes (who doesn’t love a good coupon nowadays?!)
You can participate in the Clean House Challenge by visiting Real Simple’s website or Seventh Generation’s page on Facebook.

*Be sure to stop back by next week because,
Seventh Generation sent me ANOTHER box of products to try out
AND
has offered to giveaway a full box to one of YOU!
 Whoohoo!
I was compensated with free products from Seventh Generation to use and write a review.  As always, all opinions are 100% my own!
