Exotic Blue & White Table

I haven't set up a table
in a few weeks.
I have been playing outside
when the weather allows.
I have missed putting a table together
so, I took advantage of a recent
rainy day and put this simple one together.

I had purchased the
Johnson Bros. plates,
on sale,
at Home Goods months ago.

I bought them knowing I wanted to
use them with
the small blue and white plates
that were my mother's.

I don't know where or how she got them.
 They are marked with
Made In Occupied Japan
I do know that I have always found them very exotic.
I also have the matching teapot.
It is missing the lid
and the spout is chipped.
The tablecloth belonged
to Mr. B's grandmother.
He brought it back from Canada
when she passed away last year.
The fence you see on the embossed pattern
almost perfectly matches
the pattern on the dinner plates.
I kept the flatware simple
and used my favorite
dark blue napkins.

I had found these
Oriental soup spoons
at Cost Plus World Market
for only .99 cents each.
Since I don't have the top
for the teapot I used it
to hold an orchid.
A pair of bud vases from Ikea
display a few
stems off my new Knockout Rose bushes
for a pop of color.
The blue wine stems come from the Dollar Tree.

The candle holders are also from Ikea

I always share my tablescapes with
and

Don't forget to come by on Tuesday's
for the link party.
