It doesn't make us any closer in age, I'll always be older and I'm okay with that.
Since I have some free time on my hands, (although, I have had interviews in the last couple of weeks so, keep those prayers coming please) I decided to surprise him by decorating it up for his special day.
I was able to find everything I needed at The Dollar Tree and Party City.
I decided to use his favorite color, red, as the main theme.
No fancy dishes and cloth napkins this time. I wanted it to be plain and simple but, still festive.
I made cupcakes and used a stand I had found at Goodwill ages ago.
Mr. B's favorite cake is Angel Food with egg white frosting. The frosting is homemade. The cake is store bought. He's okay with that thank goodness!
I found the S cake topper on a trip to Hobby Lobby on clearance.
I filled an apothecary jar with sparkly red grass, and placed some helium balloons here and there.
A happy Birthday banner made a great runner for the table.
I'm pleased to say, he was very surprised!
He loved it and thought it was really fun.
I know the decor runs on the kiddy side but,
although he's getting older,
Mr. B is always a kid at heart!
Happy Birthday Honey!
